2024 College Ministry Mexico Mission Trip

Over spring-break our college ministry sent a team of 11 students and staff to Monterrey, Mexico to install water filters and share the Gospel to families in need. Over the week trip, the team installed 27 water filters and shared the Gospel with 75+ people in Mexico! We also connected with a local church in Monterrey and made life-long friends!

  • Brian Scherer

Hi! My name is Brian Scherer and I am a senior at Boise State studying International Business and Mandarin Chinese. I have been actively participating in the Greek life bible study since my sophomore year, and have since begun to build my relationship with Jesus. Becoming a Christian has taught me the value of giving over receiving, and I couldn't imagine a better way to fulfill God's will than by going on this mission trip and giving to those in need. I feel blessed to receive the opportunity to share God's word with people who may have never heard it before, while also providing a tangible benefit to the community. I look forward to bringing about positive change and fostering connections that go beyond borders.

  • Cooper Dill

Hi! I'm Cooper Dill from Lake Tapps, WA. Currently, I'm a sophomore at Boise State University, majoring in business with a double minor in finance and marketing. Last May, I was blessed with the opportunity to go to Monterrey on my first mission trip that left an everlasting mark on my life, and I'm beyond blessed with the opportunity to return! The impact of last year's journey echoes in my thoughts daily, and I can genuinely say it has changed me forever. Our small team, consisting of just two students and a staff member, exceeded expectations in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. This year, with a larger team, we have even more opportunity. Not only will we revisit Tec De University to connect with students, but we're also extending our reach by providing clean drinking water and Gospel Hope to 50 families in the city. I wholeheartedly believe that the Lord has presented us with incredible opportunities in Monterrey. From delivering physical filters to offering a spiritual "heart filter" through faith in Jesus Christ, we aim to make a salvative impact. I invite you to join me on this journey by becoming a part of my prayer and donation support team. Your support will help us continue spreading the message of Jesus Christ and making a difference in the lives of those we encounter. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out. I'd love to share more about this God-given opportunity that I've been faithfully praying about since we returned home last year. You can contact me at (253) 376-7823. I can’t wait to see how God works through our team this year!

  • Gracie Wohl

Hi there! I'm Gracie Wohl and I am a freshman at Boise State University, where I'm pursuing a major in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications, focusing on Social Media Marketing! I grew up in Spokane Washington and have been loving my time here in Boise especially at Table Rock Church and at Greek Life Bible Study. From a young age, I've harbored a strong desire to serve in the Lord's Kingdom on a mission trip, and now, I am grateful for the opportunity. Witnessing the Lord's miraculous work in my life and the lives of others has fueled my excitement to experience it firsthand once again. This mission trip holds a special place in my heart, and I firmly believe that God has orchestrated this opportunity for a purpose. I'm particularly thrilled about serving in the community in Monterrey, where we'll be installing water filters in 50 families' homes, providing them with access to safe drinking water. Beyond the physical impact, I am eager to share the message of Jesus with the community and all of the families we encounter. Any support for this trip through prayer or donations would be truly incredible. I can't contain my excitement at the thought of witnessing heart transformations and the positive change that will occur with the Lord's help. I am genuinely thrilled to see what God has in store for this mission trip!

  • Halle Fehler

Hi! My name is Halle Fehler and I’m from Spokane, Washington! I am a freshman at Boise State University studying Marketing in hopes to pursue a career in Sports Marketing. I love spending time with friends and family, traveling, wake surfing in North Idaho, college football and country music. Growing up in the church and developing a strong relationship with Jesus, I have seen firsthand the miracles He has worked within my own life and others. When made aware of the opportunity to be able to show God’s love and transform the people of Monterrey the way the Lord did for me, I knew it was something I was called to do. Serving this mission is something I am truly humbled by and blessed to be able to experience and I could not be more excited! God is so good and I cannot wait to see Him work within our team to provide clean drinking water for 50 families and give them the opportunity to know and feel Christ’s love through us. Thank you for all your prayers and support to help make this possible!!

  • Phillip Crust

My name is Phillip Crust, I am a freshman at Boise State. I am from Nampa Idaho. Growing up in the church, I have always heard about the importance of mission trips! This has shaped the way I view what it means to be a servant for Christ. From a young age I have seen my parents lead and go on countless missions trips. From China to Nashville they have gone and served people to show the love of Jesus. Growing up hearing about this has always made me want to go on a trip of my own. Having an opportunity to show others the love of Christ is one of the greatest things that can happen to a person. In the Gospel Mark Jesus says, "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” This verse stands out to me deeply because Jesus came to serve and give. Missions are highly important for the christian walk because they give us an opportunity to imitate Christ. This trip will truly allow make to do that. 50 families that don't have access to clean drinking water will invite our group in so that we can provide them access to this necessity. Through this not only will they have clean water, but they will also have a chance to hear about how they can be given a clean heart. This is truly an incredible opportunity and I am super excited to go to labor for the Kingdom of God! Thank you for your prayers and support!

  • Mae Lunde

Hi everyone, my name is Mae Lunde, and I am a freshman this year at Boise State University! I’m studying Business Economics and plan on minoring in Spanish. I love to swim laps, go on runs, spend time with family and friends, and travel. Table Rock Church has provided me with a community of strong Christians, and fellowship. I am so blessed to be given this opportunity to share the light of Gods’ love with others, and grow my own faith during the process. I’ve always heard stories of how life changing mission trips are, and I’ve been interested in partaking in a mission trip for a long time. I am so excited to witness hearts changing and eyes opening when people hear how the gospel can affect their lives. We will be installing water filters in 50 family's homes to provide them with safe drinking water, while also giving them the chance to hear about Jesus through our team. I know this trip will strengthen my relationship with God, and any support for me to get there is appreciated. Thank you for all the prayers and support graciously given to make this possible!
