For the Church. For the Campus. For the World.

It was at this point that my life came to a screeching halt. School plans were falling through, relationships were confusing, and my identity in athletics had been slowly deteriorating due to injury after injury. Absolutely nothing was going how I thought it would! At the time it felt like God was taking away everything. I finally gave in, I asked for help. I talked the situation through with my parents and I was met with so much grace and understanding. After this conversation I reached out to my church's college pastor, Kelly Brennen. He willingly met with me each week over coffee, and together we read through the book of John.

It was through this discipleship relationship that I re-discovered who Jesus was. I started to think that maybe the god I walked away from wasn’t who God was in the first place. I realized my doubts were based on false assumptions of Jesus and that my childhood faith was not able to withstand my adult questions. My faith was maturing and becoming my own. I can joyfully say that since that season, my heart is securely set on Christ and his redeeming work on the cross. I have a peace that surpasses all understanding.
My college experience opened up my eyes to what other students face. According to a study conducted by the Barna Group, up to 70% of professing Christian students will leave college with little to no faith after college. Doubt is not an obstacle to faith but a pathway to faith. It forces us to wrestle with our beliefs and ultimately can lead us to a deeper understanding of God.
College ministry matters because it's about more than just academic success or career preparation. It's about helping students discover their true identity and purpose in life. It's about providing a safe and supportive environment where students can explore faith, Christianity, and grow in relationship with God.
The mission of Campus Outreach is Glorifying God by building laborers on the campus for the lost world. I'm excited to be a part of this important mission. I just really love Jesus and want others to know the joy that can be found in him. I believe that God will use me and my story to help reach students for him. I ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with me in this ministry in both prayer and financial support. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of the students at Boise State University and help them discover the everlasting joy and freedom that Christ offers.
