Help Needed
For the past three years one of our members, Laura Fulford, has faithfully led a weekly Sunday afternoon Bible study at Brookdale Assisted Living on Park Center Boulevard. Through worship, prayer, Scripture reading, and fellowship, this ministry has become a meaningful encouragement to several residents.
Laura will be having foot surgery on June 3 and will be unable to drive for at least 6–8 weeks while she recovers. Because of this, we are reaching out to see if members of our church family might be willing to help continue this ministry on Sunday afternoons in June and July.
The ministry itself is simple and relational:
Arrive around noon to greet and invite residents from the dining room
Set up chairs and hymn books in the exercise room
Sing a couple of hymns (using YouTube recordings, so no music talent required), lead a short Bible study (about 30 minutes), pray, and finish up with singing “In Christ Alone (again using a YouTube recording)
Attendance is typically 4–10 residents. Laura can provide study notes and materials, as the group is currently going through Romans. Even helping for just one Sunday would be a tremendous blessing.
Families are welcome to participate as well—the residents especially enjoy visits from children. If someone would prefer to lead an alternative devotional or program one Sunday, that would also be appreciated.
If you would be willing to serve, even for a single Sunday, please sign up HERE or contact Laura at 208-995-5427.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to encourage and care for these residents while Laura recovers.
