Suzannah is the Administrative Assistant for Table Rock Church.
I was raised in a nondenominational Christian home for most of my life, memorizing scripture and learning old hymns. I trusted that Jesus was who he said he was and did what he said he did and that following him was good for me even though it wasn’t fun or enjoyable at the time.
My hope lay only in part in Christ, and yet mainly in what I would look like in the end after following him. I wanted to look like a well seasoned believer more than anything, not necessarily to glorify Christ, but to take pride in and enjoy who I was.
After a lifestyle of constant moving and realizing that all I really did have was Christ, was when I moved out of my parents house and oversees to Germany. It was there that he, Jesus the man and not his work for me, captured my heart around the age of 15, and I saw the primary desire of my heart become to know him in his fullness and walk with him intimately.
Since then, I moved to Boise and attended Boise State University spending my time there plugging into the local church and discipleship, learning what that looks like organically through a church family and the importance of it. That time in Germany and into college led me to a fixed gaze on Him as my prize, not a future better version of myself. I was looking at the gifts but am now joyfully walking with the giver!
