Church Administrator (Part-time)

Church: Table Rock Church (Boise, ID)
Reports To: Pastor Appointed Over Staff
Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Hours: Flexible schedule to be determined, requiring consistent presence during core work day hours.
Church Overview: Table Rock Church is a gospel-centered community located in Boise, Idaho. We are reformed in our theology and belong to the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and the Treasuring Christ Together Network (TCTN). With a weekly attendance of around 200-250, we are committed to being both a neighborhood church serving our local community and actively engaging in campus ministry at Boise State University. Position Summary: The Part-Time Church Administrator serves the congregation, elders, and pastoral staff of Table Rock Church by efficiently managing the church's administrative operations. This role is crucial in supporting the pastors, ministry leaders, and volunteers, enabling them to focus on pastoral care, teaching, and discipleship. The Administrator helps facilitate the smooth functioning of church life and ministry activities in alignment with our mission and theological commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
Ministry & Pastoral Support (60%):
Proactive ownership and management of the church calendar
Provide administrative support to the two full-time pastors/ministers (staff meeting minutes and follow up, scheduling assistance, preparing materials, etc.).
Assist ministry team leaders with logistical needs (e.g., room bookings, basic communication).
Maintain and update the church membership database and directory.
Track key metrics like attendance as needed.
Volunteer Management and Communications Support (30%):
Assist in communicating needs including substitution needs for volunteers via Planning Center.
Own and manage quarterly schedules of key Sunday morning volunteer roles (e.g., greeters, coffee).
Prepare and distribute the weekly collateral for church programs (e.g., Bible reading plans, sermon series guides, newsletter).
Assist with managing the main church email list on Planning Center and sending out general communications.
Perform basic updates to the church website (e.g., event information, sermon uploads) as directed.
Monitor and respond to Social Media channels as needed.
Assist pastors with correspondence as needed.
Office and Building Management (10%):
Manage the church office environment, ensuring it is organized and welcoming.
Answer phone, manage general church email accounts, handle mail distribution.
Maintain and order office supplies.
Manage church calendar and facility scheduling requests.
Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems.
Open and lock the church, coordinating with the Deacon of Facilities for ongoing and special events to ensure proper setup and clean up.
Qualifications:
Spiritual: A mature, growing disciple of Jesus Christ who affirms Table Rock Church's doctrinal distinctives (aligned with our Member Affirmation of Faith and generally accepting of Elder Affirmation of Faith). Must be an active member of Table Rock Church or willing and able to become one shortly after hiring. Demonstrates a commitment to the local church and its mission.
Skills:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, email). Experience with church management software (Planning Center) and ProPresenter is a plus
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Proactive and able to work independently with appropriate direction.
Warm, professional, and servant-hearted demeanor.
Experience: Prior administrative experience required. Experience in a church or non-profit setting is highly desirable.
Work Environment: This position operates primarily within the church office setting during established weekday hours.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications for a part-time role.
